Bird Watching (Doddanekundi Lake)

Birds Spotted

Purple Swamp hen - Around 45-50cms. Can be seen picking food walking over vegetation on water. Sometimes they fight with each other. Notice the body color as it glows in the sun.










Common Coot - Around 42cms. Mostly wades on water. Watch the red eyes and the white beak.









Common Moorhen: Around 32cms. Watch for the red beak and hood. The beak end has a yellow patch.






Indian Pond Heron: 42-45cms. Highly contrasting yellow eyes and beak. Very commonly found across water bodies.
