Bird Watching (Manchinbele Dam)

Location: Manchinbele Dam
Date: 18th July 2010

Nikon Action 10-22X50 Binoculars, 4.5 Feet Tripod, Bird Watching Guide Book (Inskipp), A Note book and Pen

Birds Spotted

Grey Heron:90-98cms. Mostly seen during dusk. Patient customer.












Indian Cormorant (breeding):
63cms.Can be recognized from the curved neck. Eats fish.












Little Egret:
55-65cms. Can be recognized by the 2 feather strands at back of head.












Grey Francolin:
33cms. Usually stays at ground. Digs ground to eat grain, seeds etc.












Red-wattled Lapwing:
27-30cms. Seen at borders of ponds.











Oriental Magpie Robin:
23cms. Sings and jerks tail.












Red-whiskered Bulbul:
20cm. Watch for the red patch at tail bottom and below eye.
